Notice to Residents: Presence of Icebreaking Boats | Construction of the New Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge

Construction work on the new Île-aux-Tourtes bridge continues throughout the winter. The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable wishes to inform you that ice-breaking boats will be used on Lac des Deux Montagnes and in Vaudreuil Bay, where the waters are conducive to ice formation, to allow the transportation of materials and the movement of barges.

These operations will have an impact on ice thickness. Consequently, the Ministry asks you to be vigilant if you practice certain recreational activities on ice. It is everyone’s responsibility to check the ice thickness before venturing out.

Icebreaking boats will operate daily on weekdays, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. This schedule is subject to change according to needs, operational constraints and weather conditions.

For full details, see the attached notice to residents and merchants. We invite you to pass it on to your friends and family, and to share it via your respective platforms (websites, social media, etc.).
